The Abject Failure of Liberal Social Programs

This blog has existed now for four days. On day two, it received 75 visitors. Yesterday, it received 445 visitors. There are a lot of outraged, frustrated Americans who are looking for a real, effective plan of action to send a message to the liberals in power who are trying to usurp our Constitution, confiscate our wealth, rule our industries, and destroy our way of life.

The more who visit, and comment on these pages, the more hope and courage it will give to others. I urge everyone who visits to leave a comment, especially when I get the official list of grievances page up and running. It will be a petition to the government, and each comment to it will serve as an individual signature to it. In this way, we will all know how many are willing to commit to this fight against liberal tyranny. I will publish a post when the list of grievances is ready.

I received an email today, which is both humorous and educational. I think my fellow revolutionaries, as well as those who are unsure why this revolution is necessary, will find this interesting (I couldn’t have said it better myself):

Dear 535 morons in Congress,

The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

The War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars…

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM???

I love it when I make a bold statement, and then something comes along that perfectly illustrates my case.

Just as I am starting this blog, in an effort to bring together an unstoppable number of political protesters, the people of Arizona come along and demonstrate the power of numbers and of civil disobedience.

I tip my hat to you, Arizonians! You have just proved my point.

Arizona May Abandon Speed Cameras on Highways

PHOENIX (AP) — More than a year after Arizona became the first state in the country to deploy dozens of speed cameras on highways statewide, threats to the groundbreaking program abound.

Profits are far below expectations, a citizen effort to ban the cameras is gaining steam, the governor has said she does not like the program, and more and more drivers are ignoring the tickets they get in the mail after hearing from fellow speeders that there are often no consequences to doing so.

“I see all the cameras in Arizona completely coming down ” in 2010, said Shawn Dow, chairman of Arizona Citizens Against Photo Radar, which is trying to get a measure banning the cameras on the November ballot. “The citizens of Arizona took away the cash cow of Arizona by refusing to pay.”

Today: speed cameras. Tomorrow: the tax revolt.

If you think that could never happen here, ask yourself what your parents thought could never happen here, when they were your age.

This is the first step in the revolution of liberty. On these pages, we will meet, unite, organize and fight the forces of liberal tyranny. I can be silent no longer, and I call to action all Americans who love their country and are willing to do whatever it takes to preserve the blessings of freedom and liberty bestowed upon us by God and enshrined by the Founders of our great nation, for ourselves and for our children.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
